Pico's Medieval Links

Pico Farad is my name, and I say unto thee...

Music!

One day I'd like to be a cornetto player. The fingerings, I understand, are much like the baroque recorder, and the playing is much like that of a modern trumpet. So, I need to do three things: 1) develop a good embouchure; 2) develop good fingering skills; and 3) learn to be musical. And of course, buy a cornetto! Playing the coronet I own will get me started on number one. Numbers two and three can be covered by buying and playing a recorder, very much a period instrument in its own right. Number four will have to wait until I have money to spend on this silly fantasy.

Cornetto

For piles of links to places selling cornetti, just put "resin cornetto" into google and away you go!

Recorder

There is such a vast body of information on playing the recorder, putting links here would be dumb. Never the less, here are the links I have found most useful or tantalizing. An endless list of desireable books can be found by going to amazon.com and putting "medieval recorder" into the search box.

Briton!

I'm intersted in improving my understanding of medieval Briton, and tying my real ancestry in to my Anachronist hobby.
